As long as she is capable of driving long distance I should see no problems in it

74 year old grandmother might live well over 100. It is not the senoir Americans that worry me, it is the young ones.

Leave her alone; she has sense enough to know when she should not drive long distances. Think about it, she was doing her own thing long before your parent or you came into the picture.

If she is healthy and enjoys life, get out of the way!! You can learn alot from your grandmother. With her attitude, she will be here a long time. Also keep in mind, that young folk are the ones killing themselves and others due to excessive speeding.

If her faculties are still in order meaning that her reflexes are still exceptional, her eye sight is still exceptional then I see no reason to stop driving. Basically this means that if she's like she was 30 years ago, go for it.

Keep in mind that when you talk to the elderly about this, they are somewhat insulted because taking away their driving is like taking away their Independence and mobility.

My Dad and Mom drive to Florida every year from NJ and they do just fine (Dad is 73) But honestly, I would be concerned if either of them were driving alone, regardless of age.

if she's dangerous, hide her license if you're old enough to do something like that.....

old people cause most of the accidents on the road so to keep her out of danger, i would watch her carefully and see if she's on her way to hurting herself or someone else.

do whatever you think is right not what people are saying on here.

good luck!

If she is still mentally sharp and has a cell phone no problem. What do you think of her ability is the question.
