Nothing, it is in the past

Tell the basics of everything, because if you are interviewing for a law enforcement job, you will most likely also be taking a lie detector test and background screening. It'll all come out then, and if you lied about it to begin with, then you won't get the job for sure. You might still get the job if you were truthful in the first place. Most of the time they are looking to see if you will lie, not if you have done something.

If I had things to hide, there's no way I'd tell. It's easy for you to say you would when you're not in the situation, but I doubt many of the people who say they would could actually do it.

How embarrassing would that be? Lol. It wouldn't help you get the job because, let's say you were into illegal child pornography or something - they wouldn't trust you, wether it was in the past or not.

If it were me, I'd reveal just enough for them to know I let them in on something (so it wouldn't seem like I was hiding anything). That way they won't assume they are being BS'd!

If you can't tell the truth, maybe law enforcement isn't your best career option. There are good cops and bad cops, as we all know, look in the mirror and ask yourself.

I would be honest about any past crimes. It's law enforcement, it's not like they don't have access to your criminal record. As for the x-rated stuff, that's none of their business.

Things you hide must be revealed sooner or later. The mental sheild you put around things puts pressure on you to come off. It's impossible to really hide anything forever since somehow, someway it'll slip. But who'll it slip with on his tongue you never know.
