Why Can't We Build A MASSIVE Wall To Keep All The Illegals Out Of Our Country?

A massive wall, 50 feet high, 10 feet wide, with an earthen berm behind it to allow border patrols, with motion sensing equipment and cameras, built along the US Mexico and US Canada borders would be perfect.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffett want to spend their mega billions on something useful. Instead of spending it on useless feel good social causes that our past 50 years of modern history is littered with, this is something that would really be worth it. They could also buy up millions of acres of undeveloped land in our country. Less land to develop=less shitty subdivisions & strip malls=less demand for illegals=fewer barrios.

I will not even address the logistics and costs that are preventative. The real thought I have here is what would it accomplish. Building a wall to keep people from working in our country and having a decent life. Most illegals work jobs most Americans find demeaning. Would you take there place at McDonald's or picking fruit? i doubt it. Sure you could argue that they drive the working wage down and may cost jobs in certain trades such as construction. The thing is we already lose our jobs to people from other countries. There are allot of factories and distribution centers ran in Mexico alone. I think we should stop being so xenophobic. America is not a club that you have to be born into. The way we conduct ourselves abroad is one reason to be ashamed sometimes to be an American. Lets not act holier than thou and try to be exclusive. We should appreciate we haven't ruined our image enough to have people stop coming here.

what do you do with the 2000 miles of shoreline on the gulf coast ??? I live On Cape Coral FL on the Gulf coast and every week or so There is a report on TV that 10 ( as many as 38 ) refugees / boat people from Cuba were found wandering on the roads near the beaches within 50 miles of my home town, they turned themseves in to the police -- the police did NOT apprehnend or stop them --- so it is not ONLY MEXICANS In Aug 32 Cubans were found on a Port Charlotte beach and they had to turn themselves in because no Police or Coast Guard caught them How hard would it be for a terrorist to just walk onto the land if they were dropped off in a small boat from an oil tanker offshore ?????? Scary but absolutely true ( Google - Cubans Found on Gulf coast beach ) Unlike illegal immigrants and other refugees, Cubans who are fleeing the communist nation and touch U.S. soil are allowed to remain in the United States and to seek an expedited residency and eventually citizenship. The policy turns away Cubans who are found at sea, though. This happens every few weeks on the Gulf Coast somewhere IN July -- 27 Cubans were found on a Sanibel Island Beach .

U know i could really give 2 craps about everybody Else's problems.....All these people who want to solve the rest of the world's problems, what about starting with home?? It disgusts me that we have all these celebs talking out of their asses about saving this place or that, or opening up the newspaper everyday and constantly reading these articles about how much we suck. If all these people who live here are so ashamed and hate it why don't they go find themselves a new home, spending money we don't have to save the rest of the world, half who don't even want it, while i have to leave my apartment everyday and pass at LEAST 10 AMERICAN HUMAN BEINGS that call the sidewalk or subway home.Or these hospitals that are trying to save dying children with all types of terminal illness barely hanging on because they don't have the funds and our own people would rather spend their money adopting a child from siberia than save one of our own. well the conventional wall would cost WAY too much but we could make towers at intrivals of every mile with 50 cals in them and ppl manning them at all times and whenever they see immigrants that walk on a big yellow painted line you just mow them down on the line,eventually you will have a wall 50 feet high and 10 feet wide of rotting beaners and skeletons

It will not work. They will find out a way to pierce it.
In fact, their native countries, are supposed to help USA to fight illegal migrants, but their countries want to get rid out of them. So it is the job of the Border Patrol to catch them, and after that, we blame USA for sending them back home, and using the same excuse, USA is a country of migrants.

Because the rich people who make the decisions want to be able to hire the 'illegals' (your word) and pay them less than they would have to pay US.
This keeps all wages low.

well they are putting up security fences with acatalina wire with a huge gap between two fences so border patrols can patrol between it at the border of mexico . whats funny that the Mexican Presidente Is going to help, lol. think bout it worlds largest fence, lol

You mention Canada. I don't think you need to worry about Illegal Canadians. They already live in paradise. And how many American draft dodgers did Canada ALLOW in during the Vietnam and the Iraq war???
