The program itself is legal. However, you can do illegal things with it, like download music and burn it on CDs and distribute that. But the program itself is legal.

Limewire Pro or regular Limewire is legal just as long as you don't trade or exchange copyrighted material. If it is copyrighted then any exchange of it or trading is illegal or most likely would be considered that way in court.

It's still illegal to download copyrighted music. The money you pay for is just for the extra features in Limewire and it doesn't go to the music companies themselves, so no, it's still illegal even though you are paying.

When you install the latest version of LimeWire, it does ask if you intend to use the software to download CopyRighted material (a kind of get-out-clause I guess). In this respect it is pro-active, although it does not stop you from downloading copyrighted material.

I'm pretty sure. Watch out though, Limewire is loaded with Spyware and your computer will slow down considerably if you download it.

The software itself, no. What actions you decide to do with the software can be considered illegal (Napster). However, downloading music in Canada is still legal.

If you download the stuff it is. If you just have the program on the computer, then it is legal.
