This especially pretains to high schools where a student can't get a decent education , because of these bullies that terrorize them to the point where they can't even learn.

This happens when other people allow them to behave in that way. If the pupils in general and the school worked together the majority would prevail. Most people tend to mind their own business and don't stand up against the bullies. I t takes courage to do the right thing.

Experts won't agree with me but when you understand that an "EX" is a "has been" and a "SPERT" is a "dip under pressure" you have to take them with a grain of salt.

In my opinion, the whole problem is a matter of discipline. When I was in school in the 50's and 60's we had problems with bullies but not nearly to the extent my grand kids have. When I was in school the Principal still had a paddle and I never faced it because of the problems I would have had when my Dad got home. Teachers didn't have to carry guns, I respected them because my Dad insisted. And crime was punished, with much less emphasis on rehabilitation. Someone had a brainstorm (an expert) that kids were being abused and we had to coddle them more. It became a Federal Offense just to touch your child and parets went nuts when there child was punished at school or God forbid they be held back. That was the beginning of what we have now. As soon as the discipline slowed down, things got worse and the answer was more of the same, IE reduced discipline further. It has become a death spiral. The violence gets worse and the answer is more leniency.

My biggest fear is it has gone so far that it is irreversible.

It's not just in school, but maybe acting out starts there and leads on into adulthood. I read that industrial tyrants are usually powerless at home, so maybe bullies have a domineering parent at home or older sibling who makes them feel powerless and gives them the need to feel in control over something in their lives. When I was in school, a school counselor was someone to discuss problems with as well as helping with educational decisions. We can definitely use this in schools today

Its called insecurity. Many bullies are just angry kids with small peni' that have to pick on others to feel better. This is why things like the Columbine shooting take place. I'm in now condoning what Eric and Dylan did, but I do understand *why* they did it. Honestly, the only way to stop bullying is not by rules and regulations, but by standing up to the bastards and telling them that it absolutely will not be tolerated.

Has to do mostly with both parents having to work. It's been going on for years now. When the kids always had a mother at home it seems they were better cared for and had guidance. Now both parents just are too tired and busy to put the time into their kids like they use to. Seems that kids have lost respect for others because of this.

It's a power struggle.

I've worked with bullies of varying degrees and they all claim to have been bullied by someone else and they want to have that power over someone else. They know how bad it feels - they want someone else to feel that bad too - so that they are not the only one.

That's why there is so many uneducated people, because of knuckle heads in school, making it hard for students, that want to learn. It makes me sick
