What makes a man shun public affection? I am not talking about groping, kissing, hands under clothing affection... just holding someones hand or just simple touching? Aside from the fact that it could just be a personal preference, would a persons culture or nationality prohibit them from being comfortable with this?

It's more of a traditional thing, I would think. In my family (which we were never a close family), we've never said " I love you" or we've never even kissed our parents. I've never missed anything that I've never had. That's the way we were raised. Yes a person's culture or nationality would prohibit this. It's not that there's anything wrong, it's just how they are. If you can deal with it, then that's cool. Some women can't. Hope I've helped you out with this......have a wonderful day.........

Men have been taught to repress public displays of affection for time out of mind. It's only now beginning to change. BTW, my wife and I have been married for 14 years and still hold hands in public.

Girl, if they are proud of who they're with, they will hold your hand, kiss your cheek no matter when and where they are.
