Get a canon or nikon. You can't go wrong. Look in a certain price range. There's so many good models. Don't spend a lot if your not a knowledgable photographer. 3MP gets you 8x10's that are nice, so don't feel you have to get too many MP.

I just got a Canon PowerShot S2 IS digital camera. It has 5 MegaPixels, 12X Optical Zoom and Image Stabilizer. With my old digital camera I found that when I used zoom the picture quality was poor. Not so with this one. I just went on vacation and took about 100 photos. Distance to close-ups, all came out great. This camera is also loaded with features. It uses AA batteries. I use rechargeables but keep a regular set of batteries handy for when the charge runs out.

Consumer Reports rated it the best super-zoom camera in their July 2006 issue.

Canon Elan7n $600-decent midlevel 35mm film camera with plenty of features, many lenses available
Canon EOS 1v $2000-toplevel 35mm film camera, can control every function, shoots 10 frames a second.
Pentax 645NII highlevel 645 film camera (film size is 6cm x 4.5cm) Pentax lenses are great quality
Hortzman 4x5 view camera (film size is 4" x 5") shoot one frame at a time but picture quality is incredible with image that size. Can make billboards.

Get a digital camera. Kodak EasyShare. Make sure to get at least 10X optical.

If you get the camera from DEll.com, you can arrange payments as low at 15$/mo.

Best! :-)

check Cameras out on line and see what they are best at, match it to what you plan on using it for. Then go into a store and check them out as you hold them.
