When my husband went to Iraq, I found myself helpless around so many responsabilities. The double workload was very frustating. Not once the FRG contacted me or even organize a meeting, to provide help. Now that my husband is back (TYLord) they are constantly mention in activities to raise money and in thank you for all their help. The system doesn't work, How can it be improve?

i know exactly what you mean, the FRG in my husbands unit is terrible, when he was in Iraq, nobody even contacted me to tell me about the welcome back ceremony. what you and i need are better FRG leaders that actually do their job and keep an updated roster of all the spouses.

Try going to a different FRG's meeting one time. See how they do it and if you like it take some suggestions back to your FRG leader. Offer to help them get things organized and then let them take over or keep helping if you want. I am responsible in our group for calling 10 people a month just to check on them and make sure that things are going okay. If you can get a couple people to help and break up the list of the soldiers families then everyone will get called and no one will feel left out. Have everyone send their email addresses to the leader and just have them send a monthly update. That is a pretty easy way of doing it. Good Luck!

when my son's FOB was bombed and they lost two guys I found out from my son 3 days later. The FRG said she was too upset to call. That was totally irresponsible. I don't have an answer for you other than hope they quit or transfer and someone takes their place or get to be good friends with the FRG so you can keep informed. it sucks!
