Sure, first of all there are basic food groups and McDonalds, and other fast food does not appear in them. Why? Fast food does not give your body what it needs to stay healthy. The things that allow you to grow and look your best are the things that replenish the cells that reinforce the organs that run it, kinda like fuel. Foods that are good for you do not have an appeal because your taste has developed for the fast food flavors. Do not shock your taste buds, redevelope them. Start by eating one new food a day or week. Do not get a heaping bowl and tell yourself your going to like or else. Add several bites of something each day or week. Try salads with different toppings. I eat just about everything have found some combinations that are really good. Of the things you try remember to eat vegetables, fruit, dairy, clear liquids, berries and berry drinks are the best and highest in vitamins and anti toxins. If you have time go to your library or health food store and see what foods compliment what part of the body. Carrots for the eyes, and so on. Betacarratine is the best for you and is found in carrots. Try a combination of vegetables and dips, warm (steamed or cold), cold veggies are the best as boiling takes some of the vitamin content out. If nothing else make it a project for your body. It is important because if you do not fuel your body properly It is like your car it will malfunction and stop running.

Why are you scared to try new foods - the worst thing that will happen is you will taste it, not like it and move on or you will love it and have a new food to eat!
Since you already know you are eating unhealthy it might take some time for you to "like" healthy foods. If you are used to eating junk that tastes good, eating carrots or celery w/peanut butter might seem less satisfying than a bag of chips. You need to start retraining yourself to like foods that are good for you - and it is possible as long as you are determined to eat healthier. I'm not saying never eat bad food - because we all have chips or ice cream now and then, but the majority of food you eat shouldn't be trash.

Eat a lot of vegetables. Try raw cucumbers, bell peppers, and zucchini. I like those veggies raw. Also eat salads with lots of colors in them! I love tomatos, though many people do not. Try cooked asparagus. Don't be scared to try new foods! The worse that could happen is you don't like the taste! Just taste a little. It's really important that you start eating healthy now so that you don't suddenly look in the mirror one day and realize you're fat! That's what happened to me!

A lot of teens do not eat healthy. I think life is too fast for them.
Always on the go and not enough time. But you should take time and try new foods, you might like it. What's one bite...The healthier you keep your body now the better it will be in the future.

Your body and mind need certain vitamins and minerals in certain combinations to keep you physically and mentally healthy. Start off by eating those fruits and vegetables that you can eat raw: apples, oranges, bananas, carrots, lettude, mangos, tomatos, etc etc...Raw food is unspoiled. Make sure you wash it before you eat it.

Diseases people can get by the practice of eating unhealthy foods are more scary than being confronted by new fruits and vegetables.

Try to identify the flavors in the foods you choose now and find ways to season new foods with similar flavorings. Get a cookbook with some kinds of foods you like and "play" with some of the recipes. Make it fun and sneak in newer foods while you are doing it.
Good luck!

You don't need to try new foods, just find out which foods you DO like that are healthy and eat more of them. Most fruits are good for you so start there. Talk to a nutritionist or dietician.

Girl, let me tell you. You need to address the "fear" rather than the food. If you can figure out your problem yourself, then do this:
Think about your younger years and pinpoint in your mind when and how you were told to only eat certain kinds of food. Study Andrew Maslow and Wayne Dyer (especially listen to Wayne) and be healed. God Bless you.

Try eating familiar foods that are fat free or organic, or something like that. You would really be surprised at how good most of the health food stuff really does taste.
