I am looking for a great martini and am not a fan of vermouth

Martinis are always a matter of very personal preference.
My perfect martini is a few ounces of Tanqueray X in a chilled martini glass waved vaguely in the direction of Paris. That's more than enough Vermouth!

Cheers!

(Winston Churchill allegedly used the same "very dry" recipe by waving his glass at a closet that a bottle of Vermouth was stored in!)

You'll need:
Boodles or Hendrick's Gin
Jar of Olives in Brine
Dry Vermouth
Ice

Fill the martini glass with ice and water and let sit
Put around 2 ounces of gin in a stainless steel mixer/tumbler -
Add 2-3 cubes of ice
Add a small amount of brine from the Olive Jar
Stir or shake (I prefer stirred, but won't turn down shaken)
Dump the water from the martini glass
Take a little bit of vermouth and swirl around to cover the inside of the glass
Dump the remaining vermouth out
Empty the tumbler into the glass
Put ONE olive on a toothpick and drop into the glass
Drink it only holding the stem (Your body heat will heat it up, making it less palatable)
