No kids yet or anything but I've been thinking about this as a possible name for a boy.

It's not uncommon for a girl. I think your future son will be really unhappy with that name when he's older. Why not make it his middle name? It would be a great middle name for a boy. (I used to have huge crush on DC when I was young so I completely understand).

Do you really want your kid coming home beaten up every day from school? I am a guy and if i was named Cassidy i would have to kick my own ***. What about Bill bob or if you like David Cassidy so much name him David.

Yes. Speaking as a man just remember if you name your son something that is feminine, or otherwise "funny", you better hope that your child is tough both physically and mentally. Boys are mean, and not in the way girls can be. They will beat your ***.

Just keep that in mind. Robert / Bob, John, Paul, James / Jim, Greg, David, etc. etc. are obviously a man's name and will keep you out of trouble. Names that are androgynous or that used to be male but have become female (like Ashley, Lesley, Marion, etc.) are an ***-kicking waiting to happen.

Please don't ruin your child's life.

Cassidy sounds pretty feminine. Names with lots of syllables always sound more feminine. This is why guys with long names like Jeffrey or Christopher or Alexander always change their name to Jeff and Chris and Al!

Cassidy is kind of femanine and if you love your son and don't want him to be the target of bullies or grow up to hate you pick another name and use Cassidy for a girl. What's wrong with David?

nicely, assorted the boy names that are used as female names can look extra female. i in my opinion imagine those boy names are type of female: Casey Ashley Abbey Camille Heather Alana Brooke Hillary Anna Cassidy Erin Sydney Hailey Jamie Kelly Stacey Leslie Vivian And convinced, they're all boy names.

Way to feminine for a boy. Though very pretty for a little girl.
