How can old people (like 40 and 50)just set around and talk about boring stuff for hours?

You will find that, as you grow out of puberty, that the kinds of things old-farts talk about are pretty much the same things that young people talk about: people they all know, what they are doing, what they have said. They complain about their jobs and the government as a substitute for complaining about their school and parents. And they tend to talk more about what they did in the past (before having to put up with children like you) rather than talking about what they will do when they finally get a car...

But really, it's all about the same.

Its not boring to them. They often wonder how kids can talk about the things that they do for hours on end!! It is all in what your perceptions are about what is important.

We sit around and talk about "boring" stuff just you you little whipper-snappers will wonder why we talk about "boring" stuff. Also, we just want you dang kids to leave us alone in our old age.

they've grown out of the 'oh my gosh, did you see what jessy did today? she actually tripped on her way up the stairs, IN FRONT OF CLARK! OH MY GOSH!'
now they're old enough so they can talk about the past instead of young people who are stuck in the present.

It's called communicating with others. It's not boring at all.
You should try it sometime. I bet if the subject was sex, it'd be interesting.
