Seriously, everyone I talk to is angry. The Senate bill is too lax, and the House is now planning to "hold hearings." Why? They know what the citizens believe already: that illegals must stop eating up our tax and healthcare dollars and return to their home countries.

You know the answer to this already.

I am a far left liberal and most of my friends and family are also. We are always shocked when ppl try to state liberals are pro-illegal immigration.

We are the ones shouting no no no send them home. Why? Because they are criminals and we have enough criminals already.

Why isn't the gov. doing anything? You know this... because the our gov. is completely controlled by Republicans atm who are in turned owned by big business. And big business does not want to stop being able to exploit their cheap labor.

They want to make it look like they are against it but ask yourself, 'why can't a completely controlled government by one party come up with a law getting rid of them then?" See what I mean? Because they don't really want to get rid of them.

The house is holding hearings on the Senate Bill, because it can not accept it, if they let it go to committee, it would come out weak, giving the mexicans here an ok to stay and bring in all of thier family and not really close the border any more than the bill did 20 years ago.

The House bills will stop it but the senate is not accepting it, my guess, they want them here for cheap labor
(both parties)

I think the House is using this as a ploy to put pressure on the Senate. The Senate wants amnesty, and unlimited immigration. They wanted to pass this before the upcoming elections so it wouldn't be as much of an issue. The House is making it THE domestic issue - some of these weak kneed Senators are going to have to make a decision, and it may cost them their jobs if they don't come around to a more anti immigration way of thinking. We can only hope!!!

Well, I guess I have a question for you. Where were your ancestors from? Mine are German... Nearly everyone in America is descended from immigrants who left their countries in search of a better life here in America. I agree that the illegal immigrants need to pursue legal means of entering the country, but I believe that as long as you follow those criteria, anyone who wants to come into the US should be allowed (assuming they prove not to be a threat to national security). It is true that jobs are becoming more scarce, but that's not the immigrant's fault. that's the economy's fault...when a country's economy takes a downturn, it's natural that people get laid off and a higher rate of unemployment ensues. It's life. It'll just take you a bit longer to find a job. They're out there...just look!

The Government is acting NOW...They just voted down a Federal Minimum Wage of $7.25...How many Americans will work for less than they can survive on? 0 How many illegals will work for 1/3rd of that, live in tight spaces with 19 or more others in one room & send the money home? Thousands!!! A vote against the Federal Minimum Wage was a vote to keep Americans from working minimum wage jobs and in favor of encouraging illegal aliens to do those jobs...Problem with that is that illegals aren't stupid...once here they know they can get even better jobs with more pay by working for less than americans, like in the construction trades (which I have MANY years of experience) and thus putting more Americans out of work...Who wins? Rich Government officials & the illegals...Who loses? The American Public who can't find jobs to survive on & the Legal imigrants who are looked at & treated as illegals...

Because they need them to work for slave labor. They don't care what you think, it is the large corporate givers who are dictating this issue. It is a pocket money issue to congress!!

I still think the government should go after the employers, Walmart 150 illigals, and fine them heavily! If employers stopped hiring them they would not come!

And no, they do not qualify for federal programs!!

How are they eating up your tax dollars. They make squat, pay taxes and never get a return!! I think that is a bogus argument!

HMO's are eating up your healthcare dollars by the Trillions, so don't talk to me about illegals! Don't you think 14 million for 1 HMO executive is a little too large, considering they are making a profit and giving to stock holders, while denying benefits?

All the elected officials care about is reelection, so they pander do the libs and the Latinos.

They have allowed the problem to become so huge that it's now an embarassment to the US government--oopps and now the U.S. citizens have finally figured out about the "Mexicanization" of this country.

Ultimately, the solution is term limits--no lifers in government. This is the real problem, folks.

I wish I knew because it makes no sense. Our elected officials are pandering to the illegal vote. Maybe they have forgotten that us legal citizens will be voting too. Totally illogical.

America is starting to do something about it. I have to tell you, I haven't met one person that that isn't outraged. Alot of my women friends who i thought for sure would lean toward amnesty are all adamantly apposed to any thing even close to amnesty and are actually for full prosecution and deportation.
