I was in my local town centre and it was very busy. A group of girls who I believe were on a hen night or something were walking together, thery were obviously drunk. One of the girls stumbled out into a road and a van which was going too fast was coming straight for her, I grabbed her and got here out the way, I did not hurt her by doing this but she tripped on a curb with here high heels and ended up spraining her rist. She is suing me for damages. People at the scene said straight away that she would have easily been hit at high spped by the vehicle. What do people make of this

Does your state have a good samaritan law? This will probably fall under it.

Some people will sue over anything. You need to see if your state has "Good Samaritan laws". Good Samaritan laws in the United States and Canada are laws protecting from blame those who choose to aid others who are injured or ill. They are intended to reduce bystander's hesitation to assist, for fear of being prosecuted for unintentional injury or wrongful death.

Consent may be implied if the patient is unconscious, delusional or intoxicated — or if the responder had a reasonable belief that this was so; courts tend to be very forgiving in adjudicating this, under the legal guidelines that "peril invites rescue".

You don't say your state or country, so I cannot check on specifics for you.

You can get a lawyer if you wish and can afford or you can represent yourself. If you do, get as many witnesses as you can find to come to court and/or have them write a notarized statement with the court.

Good luck.

that's why you never mess with Darwins natural order of selection, she was destined to die or at the least become a cripple for life, but saving here you intenrviend with Darwins divine plan. Next time don't be a hero, leave that to the professinals as they have some sort of indeminty for such things. Let her sue, it one thing to sue..but a judge must accept the case to go to trial, most lawyers never want to see it go to trial, they just want a settlement, if anything counter sue for mentual anguish of saving her dumb a s s .

Don't talk about this anymore until you get a lawyer, it is crazy, but she can use this stuff in court to hurt you.

it is in a women nature to hate nice guys, so you should have pushed her into moving traffic, if she had survived the hit from the on coming cars she would have loved you for pushing her.
