I think it is selfish to keep bringing kids into this world when there are kids in foster care adoption agencies and just in need of someone to love them, also the world has become a blackhole for children. Do you think we should stop giving birth to them for these reasons?

We the people of this insane world, you say the world has become a black hole for children, well it's a black hole for all of us, and we helped create it. Self indulgence lack of Christ in our lives. We have become an uncaring world, refusing to see the right and to do the selfish thing. If we are to give love we must first know how to recieve it. But without the Christ, we know nothing about true love. Jesus says; suffer unto me the little children, ( which means bring them unto me) Jesus wants us to teach our children about him, about his love for them and this world. But sin has caused the black hole you talk about.
As to stop giving birth? I don't think sooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

I believe most of us would like to have a biological child, but on the other hand there are a lot of childern in foster care and adoption agencies. I like the fact that I was able to bring my own child into the world to raise. If I could afford it I would love to adopt a child. If I did so I would choose an older child because most people that do adopt are looking for babys.

Perhaps the solution should be that the wealthy should sponser a family to adopt.

I am not sure if I agree to stop giving birth. What I do agree with is people shouldn't have babys if there going to put them up for adoption. I understand that there are certain circumstances that one feels the need to put the baby up for adoption, but can't we all be more careful and use the protection that is available.

Many children in foster care are not adoptable, this comes from being a foster parent. It is easy to take a child in and give that child love it is not easy dealing with their loser parents who keep parental rights and screw the children up every time they see them.
Very few people are willing to adopt an older child, they want to adopt babies, and not all adoption agencies are ethical. Older children in need of adoption often come with a large range of physical or emotional problems.
Is it selfish to want to have a baby with a person you love? This seems to be the gist of your question, and the answer is NO. It is selfish for people to get drunk and forget protection and have a one-night stand and then have a baby they don't want that ends up with fetal-alcohol syndrom because the mother is more interested in drinking than careing for her unborn baby. It is selfish for a woman to have two or three or four babies from four different daddies she should consider how inexpensive birth-control is compared to raising a child. It is selfish for parents to have a physically or mentally handicapped child and then decide they cannot handle that child so put that child into foster care. It is selfish for men to father many babies and then choose not to support them. You want to see selfish, watch Maury as he does his Paternity test shows. You'll see what selfish is. It is definitely NOT selfish to give birth to a child you will love and care for for the entire length of that childs life -- it is human.

I agree there are to many children in the foster care system, but then the "system" makes it hard to get children sometimes -- alot of red tape. That's why so many people adopt from overseas.

A lot of people may disagree, but why NOT let gays/lesbians adopt foster care kids if no one else is adopting them. Better to have one decent parent then to get stuck in foster care until you're 18 yrs old.

So many ppl do not adopt children, b/c 1) its rather more expensive adopting a child over having one of your own 2) In america, the adoption is not always final. Parents are always given legal rights to children, especially in VA. 3) Plus there are often so many problems a child has after going through tramatic circumstances, that couples just dont know how to deal with.

I like to believe that we live free lives and for this reason I do not think that people should have to give up having babies and instead adopt or foster childen.

If people want to adopt or foster a child it should be their personal choice. Adopting or fostering a child gives a chance for people who are not able to have their own biological child.

I do not think it is selfish to have children. I do think it is selfish to have children and then desert them.

That's actually a pretty good idea. Just imagine, if everyone stopped having babies and cared for the orphans and maltreated children:

1. The many kids around the world would be loved and cared for.
2. The population would go down dramatically (which is very good, as we hardly have any room left on this earth)

But do you think people are going to do that? People love sex. People want to have their own children; children that have their genes. People want to look after their beloved child with their spouse. Humans aren't made to not reproduce; they are made to reproduce. So it just wouldn't work. Good idea on your part, though.

No, I do not feel that ppl should quit giving births to their own children, but I do feel that more people whom want to adopt should adopt older kids. My friend is getting 2 foster boys who put in the hospital b/c they did not have any where else to go.
