Since they believe that god is a loving god and answers the sincere prayers of his children, and if they're sure the mormons are wrong, why wouldn't other churches encourage their congregations to pray to and have god tell them that the mormons are wrong???

If all the answers were clearly laid out in the Bible, wouldn't all christian churches be under the same roof and teach the same doctrine?

(BTW, the mormons believe in the Bible too).

Mormon missionaries often invite people to ask god to know if what is being taught is true or not. However other pastors and member of other churches often discourage this.

I have never known a church that wouldn't ask you to pray about the mormon church. However, there is no need to do that. The Word tells us to test the spirits and to always go to the Word for confirmation about such things. The book of Mormon is an addition to the tanach. The whole of the Bible, old and new. The book of Mormon is not sent to the jews that went to america. Even the early church didnt have the new testament. They had the Torah, the prophets and the psalms (the writings). The new testament is made up of letters from various apostles and the 4 gospels. The letters were inspired by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). Paul said not to accept anything added to or another gospel whether it be an angel etc. Gal 1:8 " But even though we, or an ANGEL from heaven, should preach to you a gospel other than or more than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed". Pretty strong wording. Anyone, mormon even, who confesses that Jesus is his or her L-rd and believes in their heart that G-d raised Him from the dead shall be saved. It all comes to the person of Jesus the Messiah. Remember, in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with G-d and the Word was G-d. The Word became flesh and dwelt amongest men. The Word is Christ and Jesus is G-d. thank you. SHALOM.

Well, if a person can not determine that the mormon church is seriously flawed, listento this:
I was told by a mormon that the book of mormon was the word (food) of God delivered to the jews that had emigrated to america,
the explaination being :God would not give food (written word )
to his people in palestine, and not give food to his people in america.
Strangely though, the people in americn slaughtered each other in a war.
Then, Josef Smith,(who already had his food (the Bible),
was lead by a spirit to the now famous yet non existant Golden plates of Ephraim.
I have always wondered, why, if he already had his food,
did he need to be given someone elses food?
At the complete lack of corroberation of the actual event(other than the so called seven witnesses, with many of the same surnames), one wonders if this is at least as credible as dianetics?
The quran?
Jim Jones?
David Koresh?
At any case, the slight of hand of asking to overlook the cerebral evidence contained in the Bible, the fact that it is a completed message, and that a God that had transferred to written word his thoughts, would thereafter expect people to ignore his words
(even the B of mormon), and be guided by a prayer alone is an insult to the intelligence he bestowed upon us.
How in the world did anyone come up with such a lame approach?
Is it because the Latter Day Saints are looking specifically for people whio don't use their brains?
If so, then you will most certainly fill the organization with many
who will blindly go along for awhile, but then fall away easily.
Not a very good plan for the bottom line(10%).
Anywho, good luck with this half-baked religion, and don't worry to much, because it might hurt your head.

The truth is that in today's world, no one truly understands what Christ has always been saying, and once I tell you, you might think that I am mocker.
Within Jeuse's days there wasn't ever truly a such thing, as thousands of differnt orgaztions. People hate to hear that churchs are a orgaztion, without a doubt they are, this is why,
Orgaztion, means to fix a situation, in order to make its message clear. A organzation can not embody another ascpet, such as the Baptize and Mormmon church, because they speck two differnt methods, by this it isn't organized.
People only know what they have been taught, for those who do not allow God to awaken them, will only relay on someone else's understandment.
In Genises it says that when God created man he created man in his image. He created him in the image of man.
Go ahead and read over it because this isn't just how it is writen , but pretty much what it says.
What comes to mind when you read this, I doubt you thought this means all men and woman are Gods and Goddess, well this is just what it means.
Now back to your question. God does not force his will upon anyone, therefore the statment of freedom of will would become cancled out. People only want to do what makes their life easer. When Jesus was in the temple preacing to others that his blood is the drink of life and flesh is the bread of life.
They all said that his truth is to hard, so they refused to listen to him, and many have given up.
If everyone would stop telling their churchs that all the other churchs are wrong, and that they are on their way to hell, we all could come to unite as one, being the body of God.
This world has already choosen their faith to dusturction, so now ask yourself, who is right, am I right or this guy right. Faith is right, and through Christ you can go to the father. Instead of asking Jesus for help, do just as christ has told you, call upon him and then you are connected to God.
I hope that this has helped, if you have any questions then write back. If you wish to bash me, then don't bother writing, for only then you have proven my point. God bless.

Your statement about them believing in the Bible... Actually Mormons only believe in parts of the Bible.

Here's a quote from the Articles of Faith: A of F 1: 8
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

Notice how for the BOM it doesn't mention whether it has been translated correctly. From my experience whenever there is a conflict between Church doctrine and the Bible... guess which Article of Faith they bring out? ;)

Now what does this tell you when us Mormons are not afraid of what God is going to say about the church. I have myself wondered if the church was true or not, lets face it the way my church started sounds like it belongs in a fantasy book. but I prayed and fasted about it and sure enough it's 100% true!

I don't understand what the problem is. Mormons worship the same God as Christians, Jews, and Muslims.

If you look at the basic beliefs of the Mormons, they are very similar to most Christian beliefs:

-God is our Heavenly Father. He loves us and wants us to return to Him.

-Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is our Savior. He redeems us from death by providing the Resurrection. He saves us from sin as we repent.

-Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can return to live with God if we keep His commandments.

-The first principles and ordinances of the gospel are faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The difference is that Mormons use the Bible, as well as other ancient writings, whereas most Christians use just the Bible. Mormons believe God continued to call prophets among the people. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of their prophets and record keepers. It is named after Mormon, one of the last of these ancient prophets.

The core belief system is the same, but the method of delivery is slightly different.

Why would you have to pray to ask God if the Mormons were wrong? All you need to know that the Mormon are wrong is to study your Bible. If you truly believe the Mormon bible is the word of God then you are on your way to hell.

Why doesn't the Church ask its "member" to look and ask about baptist. With all Churches it is about one less person in the pew is less money in the bank.

And the Church frowns on those who seek the truth about the Mormon religion. Oh don't read anti Mormon stuff it will cloud your mind instead of open it.....

Christians who walk by faith and by the power of the Holy Spirit know how to recognize false prophets, false teachers, and deceiving spirits of spiritual counterfiets and false religions.

Feeling oriented people, like the Mormons who are not fact oriented, should try using their whole brain and start searching for biblical truth. It is our responsibility to use our minds and to know the truth.`

[We are] to think so as to have sound judgement (Romans 12:3).
Brethren, do not be children in your thinking; yet in evil be babes, but in your thinking be mature (1 Corinthians 14:20).
Therefore, gird your minds for action (1 Peter 1:13).

If I tempt you, you know it. If I accuse you, you know it. But if I deceive you, you don't know it. Thus the primary strategy of Satan is deception.

If Satan can get people to believe a lie, he can control their lives. That is the battle going on for our minds. That is why Christians "are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Jesus said, If you abide in My word (not Mormon's word, not Joseph Smith or Brigham Young or Gordon Hinkley's word), then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:31, 31).

Knowing the truth has nothing to do with being sincere or having sincere prayers. Prayer can be used as a part of the process but it is not a sufficient guide. Our own desires and emotions could mislead us (James 4:3). If prayer alone were sufficient to determine truth there would not be thousands of different religions.

actually if they haven't studied and pondered the LDS church why would they pray about it, and it is not the responsibility of the other churches, ,The question should be why do Anti's ask people who are studying the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints not to pray about it and why do some churches mis represent the beliefs of others. Alot of Anti Mormons try to lead people to think The LDS church is just about a warm fuzzy feeling but it's not acually we are taught to study, ponder, and pray We are also taught to follow the teachings Jesus Left us with.
