help! can I attend those classes for personal interest? thanks.?

I want to attend some classes in community college for personal interest, not for credit, I only have time till Nov, won't be able to finish the semester, and I don't want to receive bad grades for record. how can I attend those classes? they only offer a few non-credit courses, and I am not interested in them, I am interested in some credit couses but don't want receive grades for record, there are some credit/no credit classes, does no credit means "F''? is it bad for the record?

Oh yes, here at my local school they call it 'survey'. Check it out - there won't be any grades involved.
