it's a "canker" sore -- not cancer. it's medically called an aphthous ulcer. thought to be a viral infection of the oral mucosa(skin). can be caused by a injury to the oral mucosa and then the invasion of the virus into the nick. stress also seems to increase incidence of canker sores, as do some medications. try using mouth wash several times a day to help clear. or see your doctor for a prescription of "magic mouthwash" that is a compound of antibiotic and antacid, different stuff like that. it helps the most to clear the canker sores but some over the counter preps can be helpful too. look in the oral hygiene section of your pharmacy, grocer, or wal-mart. Try "Canker" or other preps similar.

canker sores are not related to herpes! I just asked my doctor beacuse I wanted to know why I got little sores in my mouth! Sometimes when our ammune system is low and lacking nutrients, little ulcers called canker sores break out. Folic acid help with that! If you break out on the outside of your lips , then it is herpes simplex
