Ok first of all you must not call yourself fat. that is a very healthy weight for your height. and ultimately everyone's body shape is different and we store fat in different areas. so just accept your shape and the way your body is.

I am also 5'2'' alot of us out there it seems!! :) And i'm never going to have skinny model-like legs up to here.. but its fine nobody has a perfect body, even celebrities. No matter how much they try to hide it or not. Everyone has a pooch, flat butt, cellulite, back fat and all of that. But we also have skinny legs, nice shoulders and arms and flat stomachs..just not all those together.

So it seems right now the area you have to focus on like most people, is your stomach. And since your a healthy weight, it seems that maybe you need to adjust your diet a bit to eat a little "cleaner" i.e. more vegetables and fruits, whole grains and all that. AND also as important you need to tone up. Doing weight training once or twice a week, for an hour will definitely show you muscle definition. As well as any other toning exercise, i recommend pilates because it makes you use your own bodies resistance to tone you. And it helps give you better posture, balance, flexiblity and core strength.

Good Luck!!

How many hundreds of your friends say, "Wow, you still look fat, especially in the stomach area." If none of them do, you probably haven't caught up in your head with your body's actual image. Have a friend take photos of you from the neck down in a generic swim suit, then have him find 5 other girls about the same size as you and take their pictures in an identical suit. I'll bet a nickel that you will look almost exactly the same as girls you think are incredibly thin. Don't let a negative mental image of your body threaten your well being. Work on not being so obsessed with your weight, or height. Remember too, that all the beauty a woman holds resides in her eyes, and when you see the beauty in the eyes, all things are beautiful.

well, you aren't fat. I am 55 and have the same "pooch" that my mother always had, although I am not overweight either. I did have 3 pregnancies in 4.5 years and am short so I think that contributed to my abdominal muscles being stressed/stretched/weakened. But mostly I think it's genetic since my mother had the pooch too. try doing some abdominal exercises. lots of reps, most days, not just a few every few months like i seem to manage!

Oops, i thought you said you are 52 not 5'2"; anyway, same answer mostly
