Feminine itching is an itch down in your private region. The most common cause is a yeast infection but it an also be caused by STDs and an allergy to colored toilet paper (the dyes in it).
The itching can be so intense that it becomes all consuming and all you can think of is getting relief. The first time you experience it, you should see your gyn before opting to treat it yourself...that is to be sure that it really is a yeast infection. Once it is determinded to be a yeast infection, you can buy over the counter preparations: monistat, gynazole-1, etc.
A woman is more prone to yeast infections if she wears really tight jeans (the area can't breathe), she is pregnant or she has diabetes. However, any woman can get it.

Itching can be caused by a variety of things. Among them are infection but the usual culprits are soap, bubble baths, feminine hygiene products and heat/moisture. It can also be caused by taking antibiotics. The antibiotic upsets the normal bacterial balance of the body. There are some creams available over the market that do work to control the itch. But if it persists I'd check with a doctor to rule out any infection.

Try over the counter vaginal medication like Monistat or Vagisil and try wearing all cotton white panties. If, after a week, it hasn't gotten any better, call the GYN and make an appointment to be examined and treated.
