I am talking about private property, not government owned. And I am talking about people who live in one country, but fly the flag of their home country without also flying the flag of the country they are living in. I also am not including anything related to the war or military personel flying their home country flag wherever they are stationed. I mean going to another country, buying a home and ONLY flying your home country flag. I personally live in the US and my US flag got ruined in a sever storm. Until I replace my US flag, I will not fly my State flag because I find it disrespectful to my country. I am very proud of my state, but feel that it would be inappropriate to fly the state without the country. Yet, everywhere I go it seems that people have another country's flag in their yard while not having one representing the country they are in or even the state. They are obviously making their living here. I Do I have to much pride in my country? Am I being nit-picky?

I don't have a problem with them flying their home country flag, but think they should also fly the flag of the country they are living and making a living in.

TO MELINDA: I was asking an opinion and I thank you for yours, but I do not appreciate snide little remarks. BTW, my hobbies do not include needlepoint. They include embroidery, sewing, reading. Oh yeah, marksmanship too.

On your private property, you should be able to fly whatever you want

I believe you should fly the flag of the country in which you reside, private property or not. Even if your home country is different than the one you live in, you should have both flags. For example, if you are from say Mexico or Puerto Rico, fly your flag and have pride in your home country, but right now you are living in the U.S. and this is the country thats supporting you, this is the counrty you pay taxes to protect you. People should at least make an effort to show appreciation for that.

I think it is wrong to fly another country's flag and not fly the country's flag with them. I could even see flying a State Flag and not flying the National flag. If you see that as disrespectful that is ok but personally I don't. I think that flying a Mexican Flag and not the U.S. Flag in America though is WRONG. That may not be what you are talking about but that is what is likely the most common one.

No, it is not appropriate to fly a flag of another country on your private property. It is disrespectful and shows that you simply reject the Host Country.
I know in some countries, it is even illegal.
In USA, I know that they do, and not just that, in Dallas Texas, one homeowner did put the Mexican Flag over the American Flag, and answering the journalists, he said that he loves USA as MEXICO, but he will not put the two flags at same level, and he will not remove the Mexican flag. I can't understand such a behavior.

No. In the US only the US Flag should be flown. This is the United States of America! State flags are also okay.

i think of that the guy has each good to fly the flag the other way up no remember if it rather is his wish. he's not doing it as disrespect for the flag, he's not hurting everyone. If it rather is the way he needs to protest no longer being allowed to have a liqueur license then he has each good to. for my section he has each good to do what he needs along with his inner maximum substances. The law enforcement officers who got here and took his flag away have not any good to take his substances, all they're reaching is infringing on his rights to protest and rather, stealing inner maximum substances. We as people ought to learn how to settle for one yet another whether we don't like it. isn't usa all approximately having the liberty to protest something we do unlike? If all of us started punishing people who communicate badly approximately our u . s . a . or our president or the flag then are not we turning out to be merely as undesirable as those international locations we artwork so stressful to be diverse from? We would possibly no longer like it, yet as people we ought to constantly be waiting to boldy say without concern that we do unlike this u . s . a ., or the president. i comprehend it rather is no longer what the resturant proprietor advance into doing in any respect, yet I have been given on somewhat a roll there and it rather is all appropriate. Oh.. and army spouse.. on an identical time as i admire your opinion I ought to disagree, this guy isn't attempting to make a assertion to usa that he hates the country, i've got faith he advance into attempting to get the publics interest, which he did.

What??
Why would it matter if you flew your state flag...but not your country?

I don't necessairly like it when I see Mexico's flag in the yard down the road from me...but the thing is I don't have to like it, because its a free country.

Now go find you a nice little hobby. Have you thought about needlepoint??

It's freedom of expression, so people have the right to fly a foreign flag on their property. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Instead, get an American flag of your own and fly it on your property.

Keep that stuff indoors. ONE country = ONE flag = ONE loyalty. In your home do what you want. In view of others, behave. I believe EVERYONE and ANYONE has a right to live here LEGALLY, but I feel it is their RESPONSIBILITY to assimilate. It should not be my responsibility to learn YOUR language. It is YOURS to learn MY language if you are going to live in my country. I see no issue with a state flag in stead of or along with a US flag, but the others need to be kept to yourself.
