The Universe is an expanse which means it has starting point from which it increases. Its funny that the center is earth. Science can't explain this other than it just a coisidence. Its like some one stuck his finger in space and pulled it outwards causing this massive gash in time and space. They can't even find the edges of it.

Its a strange scenario, I watched a documentary about the universe and the planets last week, its amazing what I am taking in.
Our universe were created almost 14b years ago by a 'big bang' and has been expanding ever since, and we are only just seeing some of the evidence of the explosion from the time as it took that long to reach us, and with the help of Hubble, we are now seeing galaxy thats almost 500m light years away.
I always has this question though, if our universe were created from the size of a grain of sand, and expanded to this much, then this 'space' must be part of something else, like a grain of sand you see on the beach, if that exploded and created an universe, its part of a beach, then how big really is this whole universe ?

God is in this scenario. He is the beginning and the end. He is the alpha and the omega.
Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

I would say no to the God being needed, and I think The Universe is a cycle that never ends, it has no beginning and no ending (think of a circle, it has no beginning and no end) I think there have been an infinite amounts of big bangs and will always be more to come.

There are three theories that I'm aware of: The universe is static, expanding,or compressing. There is evidence for these, but the technologies are not quite capable of total irrefutable proof. Most scientists I know believe in God. I think it is because of the miraculous world we live in and by our own very existence.Good luck on your search.

Man just read the Bible. There was a beginning in Genesis ch 1. God created this world. That argument is over.

God orchestrate the universe, everything moves, ebbs and flows according to His direction, nothing is left to chance. It isn't a question of God's necessity, it's a question of the Creator being comprehended by the creation.

Depends on which version of 'god' you believe in. If you adhere to the Christian worldview then your 'god' may be on the verge of being found absurd and so extinct. If you believe that god is just a word to denote the ineffable, then science will only validate what you know.

I'd be interested in seeing your alleged "evidence"... last I heard, the beginning of the universe was photographed by the hubble telescope.... and God's face wasn't in the picture.
