Fresh foods that are unprocessed top the list. The perfect foods are broccoli , watermelon, grapes and blueberries, but as a general rule the brighter the color the better it is for you. Eat lots of cooked tomato for its lycopene content. Drink smoothies if you don't have time for munching a variety of fruits. Orange juice is very good for you. Stick with whole grains and legumes, plus rice and beans which offer protein instead of white bread, rolls and pasta. Avoid salt and white sugar. Drink green tea and 8 glasses of water per day. Avoid fast food because it is too caloric for the amount of nutrition it provides. Skip all processed meats. Try chicken or fresh pork instead of beef. Fish and seafood should be a weekly meal at least. Got a sweet tooth? Chocolate is a good thing, just don't pig out on it. Fruit desserts (pies & tarts) are better for you than cake. Yogurt is a nearly perfect food too, use it as a milk substitute. Flaxseed oil will help with your intake of omega 3 oils. I use Smart Balance spread instead of butter to get mine. Eat a couple of handfuls of nuts every day, walnuts and almonds in particular. Don't forget peanut butter, it's good for you.

Fruits, vegetables. Anything not processed or only processed a little. Like milk, yogurt, cheese is processed so just have a little not too much. Say 3 servings a day. But anything that needs little or no cooking such as meat, veggies, and fruits are healthy. Also whole grain breads, cereals, are good too.

everything mentioned above. i would like to add...don't be afraid to try some new things. i personally found that when i started trying new things, i actually liked them more than the crap i was eating. even if you find a friend to try them with you...try things once at least. i now actually have begun craving things that are good for me more than junk food.
