I asked out a guy I've liked for a long time by slipping a note with some of his stuff I went to his house to return. Our convo on aim:
him: i wish you'd given me my calc like...two days earlier
him: cuz remember that girl i was talkin to you about the other night?
him: she and I are kinda in a weird relationship..
him: such as...she's about to kill herself
me: do you like her
him: i wanna help her, and i kinda do ish
him: and she told me that she liked me
him: and like...i told her how i felt
him: about how i wanna make her happy cuz she's seriously depressed
me: I've liked you for a long time
me: and I figured
me: I should just tell you and...I could move on
him: lol..it's funny
him: i was always kinda attracted to you too
him: but it was always like...blah forget it, don't even try
him: arghh i wish you'd given it to me two days earlier
I thought he liked me and if he didn't then I could move on. but now I'm...stuck at an inbetween bc he said he likes me back.

I've contemplated maybe he made up the whole story and maybe lied about liking me back. But I don't know...I've felt a spark when I'm around him, because we sometimes talk for hours and spend a lot of time together. And he pursued me with his problem of his depressed friend exactly two nights ago, but I never would've guessed that he liked her. So yeah

Oh and...the girl who admitted she liked the guy I asked out, she just got out of an abusive relationship. And I guess he thought he could help and support her by...being more than friends because thats what she wants in their relationship?

maybe this is a little confuseing to me..but whos the girl depressed and wanting to kill her self in all this..and if he is trying to help a girl in this state then maybe you should both do it together..but as you like him and he likes you then why do you want to move forward and away from this guy..why not go for it..but i feel you are young any way..did you do this to prove a point to your self for a confidence boost..i dont understand this at all.

As a friend to him, you might want to tell him to get this girl some support. I mean if she's so depressed, she might harm herself, and then He'll be really sad.
Maybe after this girl gets back to being her real, normal self, without the depression, he wont feel pitty for her, and then he can move on. Some guys have that Knight in shining armor complex, and once that girl is ok, then he can move on.
Good luck to you, but I wouldn't wait around, they might be together for good and it would not be good to wait around, find someone new.

Best thing is to not go there if you guys are willing to hurt those u r with now then whats to stop u when you guys see other people you like later when you guys are together... Really think out the goods and the bads before you choose

Just wait. Eventually he'll be out of that relationship and if you're always there for him, he'll see that soon and want to be with you instead. Just be a good friend for now. Back him up, help him with this other girl. Eventually he'll see how you're always there and want you, not her.
