Well, wedding rings are not part of the Islamic religion. That is mostly tradition, and wedding rings come from the Christian tradition (the first three fingers stand for the trinity and then the "ring finger" is where you put the ring in.) So, actually, wedding rings aren't really allowed in Islam, b/c they imitate another religion. Rings for any other purpose are allowed for both men and women, except that men cannot wear yellow gold, or pure gold at all.

The most important part of the wedding is the wedding feast, in which it is recommended that everyone who is invited should try their best to attend (an obligation on every Muslim is to attend this feast if they are invited, unless there is an emergency, of course), and the bride/groom should invite all people in the community (as many as they can afford) - whether rich or poor, etc. This is what publicizes that a couple is married, and now when people see them together, they can't pass accusations about them, b/c they have let everyone know that they are married. :) And, the wedding feast is called the "waleemah." It's very beautiful, indeed. :)

no there is not any specific sign...a ring or any other thing may belongs to its culture but not to Islam...Islam has permitted a man for four marriages at a time but only in certain conditions and the most of these coditions is the best balance among all the wives in their rights...and there are a list of rights that a man have to give a women as a wife...so dont believe on partial information...secondly the only prove of a muslim man's marry is his own knowldge, the 4 persons(2 from bide and 2 from groom)his bride and Allah

They do wear a ring, but it is not mandatory for them, and of course it should be at the left hand.
Gold is not recommended to be worn by Muslims Men, but they are many who do.
It could be a silver ring.
But trust me, if a man is looking to cheat on his wife, he will make sure to remove the ring before trying to approach the lady that he is looking for.

We honestly follow the western trend, left hand, ring finger. Women are free to wear whatever they want, but men are forbidden to wear gold and silk (characteristics of ladies wear), so usually they wear silver. Although you will find those who wear gold anyways. My husband and I picked a tungsten ring for him, quite a nice metal!

Yeah, they would wear a ring as long as it isn't gold.
