A good diet is to not go on a "diet." Diets are restrictive and therefore set up for failure. Try eating smaller more frequent meals throughout the day (like six). Walk. Do some form of exercise at least 20 minutes 3 times a week. If you drive a lot, try parking farther away from the store you are going to. Walk up stairs instead of using the elevator or escalator. Just doing small little adjustments to your lifestyle can make all the difference. Some people like to use a scale but I say use the mirror. Your weight varies throughout the day so using a scale more than once a week is not a good measure of how you are doing. Good luck!

Not only do you need a good diet plan but also a good work-out plan. The low-carb diet works well but it usually hard to stick to. Monitoring the amount of calories you take in would be my best suggestion. To start with so you make sure you are staying full I would take no more than 1000 calories a day. You also want to make sure you burn more calories than you take in. Hence the exercise program......walking for at least 30 minutes, jogging, bicylcing. Any kind of cardiac activity consisting of at least 1 hour a day. Also 120 punds is alot to loose and you want to loose it in a safe and normal rate. You will also see that you will drop weight the first 2-4 weeks at a rapid rate. Then you will begin to plateau where you are loosing about 4-6 pounds every two weeks......don't get discouraged stick with it. So key point to remember.......burn more calories than you take in.

Also start a weight training program at your local gym or buy some dumbbells at wal-mart. The best thing to do is a high number of reps with low weight to tone muscles up. With loosing an excessive amount of weight as 120 pounds if you don't keep toned up you will have a lot of extra skin.

Hopefully that has helped you a little.

Positively be aware of the amount of food you eat throughout your day and eat healthy.

Try not to eat too many "bad" calories; those which have no important value (other than to make you happy.) Fatty foods can contain huge amounts of calories and need to be kept minimal; and the same goes for sweets.

If you need to take a day off from eating in order to ready yourself for eating less, take a break from eating until that evening. Repeat as necessary until you can feel fine about eating less and less often. With practice, you will learn and feel better about eating less and less often.

Steady exercise will decrease your appetite and increase your metabolism (your body's ability to burn calories.)

Practice these things and get really good at them and you should do fine.

Reduce stress by dealing with issues in your life that cause stress. Tackle them one at a time; maybe one day at a time. Be aware that stressful issues in your life may cause anxiety and depression symptoms. Stress, anxiety, and depression can all be alleviated by eating and other forms of addictions which release dopamine and endorphins into the body.

Sometimes people are over weight because they have not had success in all of these important issues- myself included.

These are all of my own opinions.

The way you have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world soon surpassing hunger and infectious disease. So if you need to lose weight, it is because you are a victim of this pandemic (epidemic).

You need to re-learn how to eat. Learn everything on site below so you can understand how food and exercise affects your body. Do this and you can be thin. Do this not, and you will remain part of the biggest pandemic in all of history. Due to this pandemic, for the first time in 100 years, the children of Americans have a lower life expectancy than their parents.

eat right, exercise, drink water...you've probably heard it again and again, but that's because it works!

something that's really healthy to eat is (are?) homemade smoothies. throw in some fruits, milk, protein powder, ice cubes, and a couple drops of vanilla or almond extract (for flavor). if you have a problem eating veggies (like me) shred some veggies like carrots or celery, blend em in the blender with some water, pour it into ice cube trays and freeze 'em to put into your smoothies later!

for exercise, get a treadmill, a membership at a gym, or a comfy pair of tennis shoes for walking. if you have a big yard, make a trail around the edge of your yard, and walk around that several times a day. walking is the most inexpensive and easy thing. all you need is yourself and some waling shoes.

good luck!

I recommend the South Beach Diet. It's not really a diet it's a healthier way of eating and a life style change, plus you enjoy all types of food.

if you stick to eating only when hungry (not when bored, frustrated...) and stop when full , you WILL lose weight!
that's all you need to know. That way you can eat anything as long as it's to fulfill basic biological hunger.
good luck:)

Eat fruits and vegetables...lots of them. Sweets.....buzz off! Don't drink sodas or beer or anything. EAT LOTS AND LOTS OF VEGGIES. nothin is better than veggies and fruits. fruits contain antioxidants that can clear up your blood and help you loose weight. also, eat lots of bread and grains. For breakfast, try to eat sugar-free Cherios. Try that!
