By deciding. Part of being double minded is not wanting to choose one or the other.
That never works, though. The conflict it causes within us drives us to make a decision or go crazy.
This is not only true of Biblical matters, but all others in life. The more you have conflicting ideas or information that you can't or won't resolve, the more stress you have. It makes life very hard.
Some people are so afraid of making the wrong decision that they fail to decide. They become "unstable in all (their) ways."

Perhaps you might consider that what you call double-minded is but one view, and look for a unifying perspective.
For example:
You might think that in a certain photo there is simply white and black. Then you look beyond the colors and see that it is a snowman and its shadow. Noting the black and white was simply a beginning, now you know that it is more, the shapes and the positions of the light have told you more.
Does this mean now that you are quadruple-minded or more? You can see how that description becomes unwieldy and is too simple.
Consider rather that you are an investigator, moving your investigations up and down a tree of perspectives, identifying various types of patterns, in order to find out the way seemingly distinct objects, scenes, movements, and patterns are related.
In the above example there are lots of perspectives to travel to, but you are still the one investigator, provided you remember each view, each clue learned. For example, from one view you realized it was a picture. From another view, you saw the shapes and remembered how light works, recalled the shape of the snowman, and that shadows are dark especially in a black and white photo, or a grey scale print-out. It is now not just "black and white" but all those other things as well. You can even go on to find out who the artist is, or look closer and maybe see how electrons resonate to create colors.
Sure, you could then claim that you are part of the multi-mind if you wish and multi-minded. You could also still claim that you are of one mind, a curious mind of the investigating explorer.
In this way, you will not need to "fight" being double-minded or even seek a cure, but instead you will see in a greater sense what your one mind is doing , unified by one of the most glorious pursuits of the human spirit -- to understand.
Perhaps one more example to help you out. When I a have satiated my hunger in full, should I lament the loss of the food in the cupboard? When I am starving but without food, should I pleasure in how good the food will taste? Their are many ways to view any activity, but remember the purpose and the delight, and then you will cherish humbly the value of all things more completely, instead of fret over needless things.
Yes the sound of children laughing can instill in you both a glad and a sad heart. Glad because they laughed, sad because they have stopped. Glad because they lived, sad because one day those mouths may remain ever silent, perhaps even forgotten to Gaia and Kronos. But that is only one view and one pairing. There is more to such things, see all these conundrums as an invitation to pursue your most natural gift of curiosity, and ride the journey of understanding.
I wish you well.

there is no way to stop it but you might prevent it, when a question is asked you have two different answers that kind of contradict each other, you could choose the positive side or the negative side, the more you choose one side than the other the other one will be faint, but i myself prefer double minded because i have something to back my first answer with anyway.

Pray and ask God to give you a mind after His Will. Pray that God give you stability to your will and character. Being double-minded is simply a manifestation of instability. God can guide you into being consistent in your thoughts and actions. Just remember that if your ways please God that are working on being stable not only in words and deeds but in seeking the Will of God for your life.

Read James 4, then be a "doer" of the word.
Paul wrestled with this too. Read Romans 7

Whatever you think, that you will be. If you think yourselves weak, weak you will be; if you think yourselves strong, strong you will be. The remedy of weakness is not brooding our weakness, but thinking of strength..... Stand up, be bold, be strong. Take the whole responsibility on your own shoulders, and know that you are the creator of your own destiny. All the strength and succour you want is within yourselves....
All the best.

It comes as a counter-reaction to repressing your desires and needs. Unrepress by eliminating guilt and you'll have integrity.
