variety is the SPICE of life....it (you??) might have alot of ingredients, but when you mix it together, it's STILL A CAKE!!!!

Nut as far as I know
But here's a recipe I liked ... notice the secret ingredient ;)
Nutty Fruit Cake
Ingredients:
1 cup sweet butter
1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 2/3 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/4 cups hemp flour
1/2 cup milk
1 cup raisins
1 cup candied ginger
1 cup dried fruit (cherries, blueberries, or apricots)
1 cup nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, or pecan)
1/2 cup toasted hulled hempseeds
Directions:
Slowly melt butter in pan and mix with sugar.
Mix in eggs and milk and add salt.
Combine wheat and hemp flours with baking powder and slowly add into butter/sugar/milk/egg mixture.
Stir until smooth and mix in other ingredients.
Spread in greased bread pan and bake at 350 F (180 C) for one hour.

I like fruit cakes more when they have nuts in. Really I'm a nut cake kind of guy who doesn't object to a little bit of fruit.

in a fruit cake fruit is necessary but not sufficient.
since a fruit cake must have other ingredients as well as fruit it is patient of containing nuts, flour, fats, dairy produce, nails, yeast-extract ....

If I made one then I would put nuts in because I like nuts. Other people don't though.

Some have tons of nuts in 'em and some don't. It depends on your perference. Check out www.allrecipes.com. You'll be surprised how many recipes for fruitcake there are!

lol no they dont have nuts in them they juss say that cuz the person who made fruit cake died from mental ilness

old fashioned fruitcakes had nuts in them it was later that they were left out that is where the saying comes from and don't worry we must be kin because thats what I'm told to
