Yes, I wrote the President, the Vice-President, Congress and Senators. I got several form letters, but I did get a hand written note from Senator Bozeman.
here is a copy of what I wrote.
The negative impact of illegal aliens in my life. I wish I knew where to start. This article
http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/mexicoflag.asp
has prompted me to write. I am beyond disgusted.
I feel much of the blame for illegal aliens in Northwest Arkansas rests squarely on the shoulder's of Tyson Foods. They have built and/or expanded plants in Berryville and Green Forest knowing full well the population could not support the demanded work force. I believe they systematically recruited illegal aliens and turned a blind eye to obviously sketchy or fraudulent paperwork. I worked for Tyson Foods from 1988 to 1994. I personally saw the treatment of longtime employees degrade when the illegal aliens arrived. I personally was unable to get a job at Tyson's a few years ago, inspite of an excellent attendance and work record during a previous tenure.
As a former reserve (volunteer) deputy sheriff and reserve (volunteer)police officer, I have witnessed the negative impact of illegal aliens on our justice system. It is so difficult to convict many of the offenders because their identies are so fluid, unless you personally remember an individual - you have no way of knowing who they really are - and even then you can't be sure. They drive with out driver's license and insurance. They allow their underage children to drive.
Arkansas schools were struggling when they only had to teach in one language! Now with the influx of the children (many of whom are American citizens - by virture of the geographical location of their birth) of illegal aliens schools are stretched to the breaking point.
The public service system is reaching a critical point. According to one article I read the deficit per illegal household was in excess of $2000 and expected to reach $7000 if undocumented aliens were to gain legal status. I believe the Social Secuirty system will cave under the weight of the illegal aliens turned documented workers.
I don't know exactly what the answer is, but we have turned a blind eye far too long. Something must be done. I realize there are no easy answers, but I am not willing to become a MexAmerican.
I don't believe that voting is a priviledge or a right. I believe it is my patriotic duty to vote. And I vote NO to allowing persons who entered this country illegally to stay. I am not anti-immigration. I simply believe that any immigrant (regardless of nationality) should have to follow the correct proceedures or face deportation.

OH, Yeah! I wrote to many different Sen. and congresspeople. Also Jorge Bush.
I wish I had more confidence that my letters were being considered in ernest. Frankly, I have lost faith in the system. I don't see our government doing it's job properly.
I could go on with lots of dribble about all the bad stuff but?
I told em' under no conditions, are illegal aliens to be given amnesty. Send em' home and let them appy properly/legally.
If they are criminals (forged docs, etc) don't ever let em' in.
I want the concept of anchor babies to be annuled. Stop this practise until a time in the future when it can be justified.
NO chain migration of families.
Worker programs with limits and checks are fine, with the understanding that the employer/sponsor pays for their housing, insurance and is legally responsible for the guests' civil actions. These folks could be given a fast track to citizenship if they come here legally and have not been here illegally before.
Enforce the laws of the United States.
Do your job! Take care of the interests of the US American Taxpayer!
In closing, I rather suspect (but hope not) that violence in the streets is all that will get things changed in this country. People need to stand up and let em' know that we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore! Or ELSE!

No. It would be an absolute waste of time and money for everyone to write in to there congress because who could read that many letters and do anything about it. Your congressmen are busier then a one armed paper hanger trying to get re-elected to care about insignificant things like immigration. That's why Immigration is in the shape it is now, because the congressmen and women did nothing about it in the first place. Why would anything you say now change what they have not done in over 200 years?

I wrote, I sent bricks...
I didn't keep copies. Basically I said the Senate Bill total immigration numbers would swamp our schools and services denying our children of upward mobility and our seniors of needed care. I said we need real border security, not conversations with Mexico, and that we need that first.
However they are very disingenuous. Frist's office actually sent me a letter under his name saying he shared my concern and had voted for strict border security in the Senate Bill.....
Did you know that more than a third more illegals came in in 2005 than 2004 and 2003 once the amnesty guest worker plan discussion started in the White House?
This debate is going to take forever. We need border security RIGHT NOW.

I answered questions to a pollster for JD Hayworth and my views against he current bill in the Senate. I also stated that I was more likely to vote for a candidate that did not support the current Senate bill regardless of party lines. I will vote against my party in favor of a Democrat if need be.

You can write congress till the cows come home, but it will fall on death ears.
Nothing is being done. We have laws, but the US government doesnt enforce them, why? its a question of economics.
Its been happening for generations, yet nothing is done, why?
