In May 1993 an outbreak of Hantavirus showed up in Four Corners region (Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah). Apparently the people that died of the virus were sweeping out a barn that was inhabited with mice. The sweeping aerosolized mouse droppings containing Hantavirus and then the people inhaled the virus. This is how the virus was transmitted.
