There is a little city in California called Santa Maria that makes the best tri-tip barbeque in the whole country.
They started bottling the spices used in Santa Maria barbeque and selling it all over the country.
Driving down the main strip of Santa Maria, you can find tri-tip barbeque on every major block. It's wonderful.

I'm from the NY area. We're number one at almost everything but I tip my hat to TX when it comes to BBQs. You haven't had BBQ food unless it's Texan style. Positively the BEST quality meats and poultry in unbelievably huge portions and homemade recipes. Unbeatable!

They wouldn't know good BBQ if it hit them in the eye.
There are so many different varieties of BBQ here that you could stay for a year and still be wiping the grin off your saucy lips!
