Try taking him for a long walk somewhere else. And if that doesn't work, then try feeding him.

I feel your pain, I have a sheagle (shepherd beagle cross) and I had barking issues, when I first moved into my condo. I did research and got a training collar, it emits a signal when he first barks, if he barks a second time it goes up a level, and so on through 7 levels if needed. If he stops barking it resets to the lowest level. I had him wear it for maybe 6 months and now he doesn't need it. It is very humane and worked soo well! check out petstreetmall.com, that is where I got it. Good luck!

That's just how beagles are. If you don't want them barking, try the spritz bottle with soap and water. Spray them when they bark. Otherwise, I"m afraid you're stuck with a hound dog...a natural vocalist.

a trick I use with my dogs and dogs where I work is to take something that makes a loud noise (say a can with pennies in it) and when they bark (or do some other undesirable behavior like start to chew your shoes) shake the can. It will get them to stop and as soon as they do, call them to you and pet them and praise them for stopping the behavior. I have found this works pretty well with most dogs.

get a barking collar( not the shock) it produces a loud hi pitched noise and will make them stop barking and it only weighs 1 ounce too does not hurt or harm the dog in any way.
buy at walmart,or your local pet store.

When my dogs barked a lot, I bought them a muzzle, it worked. We also bought a no barking shock collar---it does not harm the dog in any way---it worked as well.

A friend of mine was telling me all about this guy who is the 'Dog Whisperer"! But she says he really teaches you great stuff and helps teach yu how to train yor dogs. According to him, we are the ones who more or less screw our dogs up. And alot of that is because we treat them like a kid of ours and spoil them we do not treat them like a dog. His name is Cesar Millan. He is on the national geographic channel friday nights at 8 p.m.

Jus think what your neighbors are thinking, if you are thinking it. Training books are really good, from the library.
