There is no geographic place such as heaven or hell. It is a state of mind, therefore available to you now. Life is eternal...it doesn't stop when you cast aside your current body. Think of your body as an old piece of clothing...when it's worn out you get rid of it. Spirit,of which you are a part never dies...guess you might get a new outfit when you're ready.

Heaven is where God and His saints abide...in happiness.
Hell is where those who reject Him abide...in torture.
If you accept Jesus's death, burial, and ressurection as truth and let Him rule in your life as your Savior from sin, then you'll go to heaven when you die.(John 3:16, Romans 3:23)
Otherwise you'll live in torment, forever, in hell.

There is no heaven and hell mixed. Some believe in a place called Pergatory. Kind of a holding cell until the Judgement. I believe that we lay asleep until God calls us with the trumpet blast.
