Well, some people are morons. However, some military wives give the rest of us a bad name. My husband was in for a while and some of the other wives I met were crazy. They were lazy (various excuses for not working from...they were "too depressed because hubby was gone" to they "married a Navy man so they wouldn't have to work"), needy (always calling their husband's command complaining about time off and other matters that were none of their concern), and snobs (so many of them looked down on the wives of lower enlisted...as if they themselves had any reason to...they weren't the ones in the Navy). So as with any group, the ones who deserve the title of bi*ch ruin the image of the whole group!

Look down on them? Why? I've never heard that ... would imagine military wives come in all shapes and forms ... maybe some are as you say "looked down on" for other reasons than being military wives? If anyone is against the wife because the husband is in the military, then that's shameful ... :( But as I said ... I don't know of anybody who does ...

Perhaps some just don't understand what being a military wife really is. I was a Navy wife for 20 and now he's retired at 39. We were well respected by our families and friends and co-workers. We are the ones to handle most things. Play Mom and Dad for many months, full time. Handle moving and changing schools when they transfer us. Just to many things to mention. It takes a very special woman to be a military wife and alot of women aren't strong enough to be one. Congrats and don't let those people bother you. Perhaps their jealous.

I've never heard of it in real life, but do you remember that movie "An Officer and a Gentleman?". The premise was that women in small towns would try and snag a military guy to get them out of a place with no future. People in the town thought they we just gold diggers.

In today's world climate, I wouldn't want to trade places with a military wife for anything.

well i am an army wife and from what i have seen there are a LOT of military wives that let themselves go and get extremely over weight. a lot of them also cheat on their husbands, like on my post there is a club for spouses called the promise keepers, it makes sure that you dont cheat. my thought on it is, if you really feel you need to be in that club, why did you get married in the first place. now of course i am not saying all of the spouses are like that, but there is a good number of them who are.

i'm a military wife and i have not heard that but i can understand why some people might. in the 6 years that i've been a military spouse i've met other wives who you can tell, clearly married just to get whisked away to another state or country. it's almost like that movie an officer and a gentleman. i knew a girl who did that, she married her now ex husband after a month and then after he brought her to europe (they got stationed there), paid off her bills, and bought her a car, he deployed and then she left him. total
*****. all it takes is one piece of trash to give us all a bad name.

People like Michelle Malkin and many other right wing nuts think that you and your loved ones are merely a pawn in the game of the better people, the masters of society. They have the gall to call honorable people like Cindy Sheehan "liars" and questioning her maritial status, her love for her dead son (who died fighting for the USA) and claiming she is being used by so called "Grief Pimps" implying that she is a whore presumably.

These chickenhawks are scum and should be confronted immediately.

It is my opinion that military wives, mothers and loved ones all should recieve the countries utmost respect.

Think you need to take a look again, because most people support the military wives.

Because alot of them get married for the sole purpose of stealing soldiers money. Its becoming a more common occurance that women are stealing the money that gets sent to soldiers..they marry the men to take control of the incoming pay check. Its happend to at least 4 guys in the Army that I know and they say its becoming more and more common.
