...what item would you grab out of your house to "re-gift?"

I have a bag of six brand-new, still-in-the-package mini-blinds. Would that make a good gift?

The question is far too vague... most depends on what type of party... and wrapping a used item out of your own home is so unethical... consider taking an extra 15 minutes to get to the party, and stop and get a gift card, and put a gift certificate, personal check, or cash in it.

Well I think my neighbor just got a new computor when he's at work I'd sneak it steal his computor, wait probably to much for a first gift. As for wrapping I can think of someone I'd like to wrap in celaphane what's the question ? What I'd chose would depend on how well I knew the person but I've got some stereo speakers I've never used and books I've read only once. I'd wrap them all in newspaper under the guise of being enviromentally friendly. Now back to who I'd wrap in celaphane what was the question again ?

If I was invited to a party that was to start immediately. I would not take a gift. Certainly not a "re-gift". However, I would take or send a "Thank You" gift within the next few days.

If I had to re-gift something, I would give up my bongos and maracas because;
(1) regardless of what kind of party it is, they just "fit",
(2) because they outlived their usefulness in my life,
(3) because EVERYONE should own a set and
(4) so that I can go out the next day and buy new ones.

Let the conga lines begin!

Getting invited to a party at the last minute is an insult. I wouldn't worry about a gift because I wouldn't go. Last minute invitations are rude. They kinda say, " we need a few more people to fill in and we thought of you."

This actually happened to me yesterday. It was a cousins reunion and we were to bring token gifts to be exchanged in some fashion but I forgot about it. I took a very nice leather organizer by Rolf's. Confession: I did have to snatch the old calendar out, but the pages were fill-in yourself, no dates. The original value of the organizer was more than the set price limit, however.

Wouldn't grab anything. How dare someone invite me impromptu and expect a gift? Pshh. Better yet, I'd just decline the invitation.

I'd write a personal short story for my hosts on the way to the party...but then I'm a smart-alec like that. So I guess I'd re-gift my imagination :oD

Wow....I just got back from the Wine Shop...so I would grab a bottle of this nice little Riesling I just bought. Wait...this isn't a kids party is it? Better bring two bottles.

I agree with everyone who said--it was rude to invite me at the last minute.

so their gift would be a lousy recycled book...something that I didn't even get past the first chapter in.....and then I would chow down and party at their expense.
