It's a very good source of protein, just be careful what you mix it with (if you mix it), the dressings can be very fattening.
I'm a tuna junkie. I eat it at least once a day.
A 6 oz. can contains only 1.5 grams of fat -- practically nothing. And yes, it's filled with protein.

I never thought I could eat tuna without mixing it with mayo, but I found a very tasty recipe. I mix it with mustard, relish, and a little ketchup (adds a sweet flavor), some garlic, a little salt, pepper and paprika.

Of course, use the tuna in spring water, and not oil.

Yes, but unfortunately it's loaded in mercury which can cause dementia if regularly consumed even a few times a month. Canned has a less mercury than fresh tuna, but still has some. Salmon is a better choice. I feel much safer with a lab analyzed fish oil formula that doesn't contain mercury- will state on the label. Also, omega 3 plant sources- flax seed oil, walnuts are great.

The fat in it is a HEALTHY fat. Other meat fats are not so healthy. This healthy fat is good for just about every part of your body, especially your heart, brain, and skin.
