Personally i happen to like steward more than any of the others (however much of my watching is limited to espn and hbo fights). His commentary is usually insightful and as a master trainer he is able to notice things rounds earlier and is able to provide tidbits of information that others simply do not see. I think kellerman is alright but he kind of seems to run over fran and they have a few chemistry things to work on with their crew i think. Lewis is alright but he is still being led by the hand i believe, some of the things he says still sound pretty scripted and they other things are a bit on the silly side.

But Steward is fantastic in my opinion.

Sorry to give a typical answer. But give me the BIG THREE (not just one): Lampley, Steward, and Merchant. I can't stand Lennox or Roy Jones Jr.---they sound like they've been hit in the head one too many times. The BIG Three are entertaining, there's never a lull in the action (watch Lennox and RJR go moments without saying anything [BORING]). My favorite interactions belonged to MErchant and George Foreman. Foreman had his head so far up Oscar DH a$$, that you could smell him. And Larry never really cared for ODH until recently. So that made for good banter.

I personally like Max Kellerman and Sean O Grady. They are well informed and rarely get on my nerves. Larry Merchant supplies some great color at times but during a match he can be hard to listen to at times. Teddy Atlas has great insights but repeats himself entirely too much and like John Madden sometimes overstates the obvious. I have recently seen Max Kellerman on HBO after dark and it encouraged me, hopefully he will come back to boxing analysis I missed him on Friday Night Fights on ESPN2. But he has had several sports shows on ESPN and FOX so as long as he is enjoying himself that is cool.

the HBO cast. Larry Merchant is especially hilarious when he commentates while he's drunk.
