I've been taking Allegra-D for two months, and it's helped my allergies so much! However, I would like to know if you can take this drug year-round. My Rx is has no refills on it, I am going to call the dr. to see if he will let me have more because I have allergies all the time, not just certain times of the year. I appreciate any help. Thanks!

So far there isn't any generic for Allegra-D in the US, but it's fine to take year yound. There are different names for allergies, from seasonal allergies to chronic rhinitus which is just year long allergies. If Allegra-D is working for you, there's no reason that your Dr shouldn't write you a new script for it.

I have year round allergies as well and my doctor prescribed me Zyrtec. I am pretty sure you can use Allegra in the same way.

I take the generic Allegra-D (because my insurance co. doesn't pay for the brand name) year round, on doctor's advice. I'm allergic to stuff indoors as well as outdoors, and taking the prescription year-round helps prevent sinus infections. Great stuff, isn't it?

it rather is an antihistamine (hypersensitive reaction medicine) with an added decongestant. No relation to narcotics, however drugs like it are being controlled further and added tightly at the instant because of the fact the decongestant section, pseudoephedrine, is used as a precursor for making methamphetamine.
