Why was Jeff Koons so-called art shown in publuic galleries? Chinchalina may have been a porn-star turned politician but that's no free pass! Truth is the whole idea of cutting edge art is pushing the envelope and for you and me Playboy as art is pushing it.

The problem you have is who is taking the pictures and the poses or setup of the picture. Some are art; then again so is an chimp spreading paint over a canvas...all definitions of art are subject to interpretation. An artist can take a beautiful woman and place her in such an image that the message or emotion of a picture take ones breath away. But on the subject of men's magazines...very few are works of art!

If you look at the human body, it is a work of art. Look at the earlier time periods . They made sculptures of naked people and everyone thought it to be beautiful, magnificent if you may. They're still talked about. The human body is nothing to be ashamed about, just fonded upon.

Maybe it is because the pictures in Playboy are so heavily airbrushed and retouched that they are more a creation of somebody's imagination than pictures of real bodies.

I've never heard that said but I've always considered porn to be looking at a sexual act while it is in the process of being done. Not static images, that's more like just nude pictures to me.

I don't really know,I don't buy those stupid magazines,I think it's degrading women. You don't capture a woman's beauty by taking pictures of women and putting the women in a magazine for men to get off on.You capture a woman's beauty with your own eyes. That's how I feel.
