Spray them down with an insect repellant high in DEET- Deep Woods Off or Cutter. Make sure they wear long pants, tucked into high socks and good shoes.

teach them not to run through long grass. If they do, have them get into the habit of the tick check every time. (One watches the other one twirl around while looking for tickes everywhere below the knees) Have them where long pants which they tuck into socks helps. If the ticks are biting them you need to remove them and put into jars and take to doctor to be tested for limes disease, also watch for red area where bites occur. Bug spray which repels ticks might help a little.

I wish there was an answer. I picked up a tick yesterday between the gym and a restaurant. No grass or anything in sight.
We just have to be vigilant.

Buy a bug repellant with as high a % of DEET as possible. In Canada some lotions are as gigh as 90% .
Know the physical signs of Lyme disease. It is easy to treat when cought early. Older infections can devastate the patient and sometimes permanently.

Spray your yard with diazinon a couple of times within the month. Say bye bye to the ticks.

insect repellent with more than 10% DEET, never under the age of 2.
i've also heard that skin-so-soft, from avon, is good. it's also safe! use a spray bottle to get on evenly
