I was thinking no jeans. Do ladies have to wear closed-toed dress shoes?

Also, when meeting with an attorney, should we dress up as well?

as for the attorney, they could care less what you look like. but if you come in with really questionable wear, they may go over how to dress when in court.

as for court, i would wear a power outfit. something that makes you feel confident, yet respectful. anything along the professional line would command respect. therefore, for women you would want to wear a blouse that has some sort of sleeve. if it is sleeveless, then wear a cardigan or fitted jacket with it. wear slacks or a skirt that is no higher than an inch above the knee. pantyhose are expected professionally, but im sure you could do without them. ;o) closed toe is usually the dress code for profesional wear, but i say if you own a pair of fiesty open toed shoes that would look stellar with the outfit, then go for it!

blow them out of the water!

I think you're right. Perhaps "Sunday Best" or a nice suit would be appropriate.

As far as meeting with your attorney, I think you can do anything you want. However, if you're giving a deposition or something, and everyone will be there, dress up.

just waer something smart. I don't think they're bothered about your footwear so as long as they are not trainers or anything you should be fine.

If it's a meeting with the attorney outside of court you can wear what you want.

From where I come from, we call it casual smart ie long sleeved shirts and long trousers for the men and something not too revealling for the ladies:)

This was an interview question given to Judge Judy once. She said that you should wear what you would wear to your favorite aunt's funeral.
So I guess that means conservative and subdued.
