I have been a morning person for years...in bed by 10pm, out of bed by 6:00am. About a month ago, I was going through a stressful time in my life and for a whole week, I slept in until 8:00am. Since then, my body seems to want to stay up until after midnight and sleep until 8-8:30am. I'm feeling much more energetic than I have in years after this change in my sleep schedule.

Is this normal and healthy?

For you it has been healthy, maybe your old sleeping habit didnt really energize you. Yeah its normal, and if your feeling better for it, its definatly healthy! But, if you do start to feel ill, see your doctor to be safe.

I also used to try and go to sleep early in the evening and then found myself staying up late. This was due to having things on my mind and then getting up later than usual. I asked an older friend and he is 86 and I am 54 which he said that if you are going to bed late at night with things on your mind and wake up later. That means that you have the energy to start a new day but you have not solved the problems from the day before. He said that you should try and go to bed at night with no problems on your mind so that way you have ream sleep and you are more energetic when you wake up no matter at what time. Good Luck.
