I hope this question doesn't turn into a rant about what a few mean people are saying about Hispanics. Keep in mind there will always be those who will say disrespecful things about all races, religions, ethnic groups and nationalities. On the other hand hope this doesn't turn into a rant for bigots that don't like Hispanics. I hope everyone keeps in mind that illegal aliens come from all countries and are of all races. The reason I ask this of Hispanics is because a large number of illegal aliens are Hispanic and they are often times negatively affeted by illegal immigration.

I am Latino, Puerto Rican, but American first, it is so unfair that these senators, governent, and activist think they can speak for all latinos. All the latinos I know say the same thing, this is not a race issue but an invasion of our country by ILLEGALS, latino, european,asian, arabic, whatever. the fact is that the race card is played because Anti-amnesty Americans like myself get labled as racist. that makes our voices dissapear. I for one feel the distaste non latino americans feel everytime i interact with them outside my house, and in a way I cant blame them for feeiling like this. I want this issue resolved and the fact that Puerto Ricans are legal citizens, and Puerto Rico is a United States territory.
So for those who assume that brown skin equals illegal, shame on you.
I believe that all fellow American citizens should unite and rid this country of illegals and remove from office those who want to grant amnesty

I think its a big problem....
I am Hispanic and I see both sides of the coin, especially living here on the border.
Illegals come every morning downtown, very early and wait to be picked up by construction companies, farmer etc. They have been doing that for years, you hear it on the news and read it in the paper all the time...
The local INS and border patrol do NOTHING.....They are well aware of this problem but turn the other way....Now who's at fault here?
Its the government's fault. Yes, its wrong to come here without papers and work illegally, but if the government allows it and if you had a family you couldn't support on $20 a week, WHAT WOULD YOU DO???? I am sure you would certainly consider coming here illegally, after all your family comes first.....
It's stupid when I hear some say Mexicans are criminals just here to take and rape our country, THAT is simply NOT the truth....They come here and are taken advantage of, but they don't care because they still make better money here then they would over there, they are the hardest workers and they never complain, which is more then I can say about the locals.

A study was done about a month ago by the Latin Policy Coalition that found that 79% of Latins in America thought illegal immigration was a serious problem. I tried to go back to it to see if they asked specifically about amnesty, but the link was dead.

I'm really against allowing amnesty for illegal immigrants, even if they are Asian or Chinese. It's simply not fair for the legal immigrants who went through the legal process. My parents had a difficult time and my grandparents have been scammed many times.
