Realize that Dallas is a very Suburbanite area anyway. I'm in Houston and if we speak in terms of the "ghetto" in Houston as oppossed to Dallas, it's in very stark contrast favoring Dallas.

I was considering taking work in Dallas in relocating my family there. We looked at the areas above and they seemed to be the most promising.

Grapevine is good too, but it's more of an older, more historical place, not sure how suitable it is for family living.

Obviously, I would steer clear of the Downtown areas.

However, Dallas has a very white picket fence/strip mall feel. Kind of a pre manufactured lifestyle which is sort of a turn off for my wife and I. But If that works for you, then you'e in luck.

Talk to a realtor you can trust. If you find one I'll be surprised.
Drive around and talk to your priest/Pastor in different neighborhoods. I used to know Dallas, been some time. Errah, the city. Not ref to ex.
I remember some nice neighborhoods off Stemmons Frw'y.

Allen seems like a nice neighborhood, but it's about half an hour away I think.
