Absolutely it is insanity. Have you ever seen/heard someone speaking in tongues? It is truly frightening!

We are all little two-way biological radios that send and receive information on lots of different channels and frequencies all at the same time. People who talk in tongues are picking up and broadcasting languages/information from other times and places. Like late at night you can pick up an AM radio station from across the country when the skip is right. These people just happen to be in a syncronistic harmony with the broadcast of someone or something else in the universe. Like a repeater tower of some sort. These stray signals override the persons normal broadcast ability and next thing you know they are talking in tongues. Sort of like a stronger radio station overpowering the signal of a weaker one.

I've got various opinions on tongues spoken in church. First you must understand what tongues is. It is simply communicating or praying from the spirit or to the spirit. Tongues is the language of the spirit. If someone rambles on in tongues and doesn't know what they are saying and nobody can interpret through the spirit, then it is useless.

I've witnessed tongues being used in church, where someone rambles on for five minutes and then someone else on the other side of the church steps in and interprets it for the church. While the first couple times I found it interesting, after attending this church for several weeks and noticing that the same 3-4 people were the ones doing it.....I came to the conclusion that these people were just attention seekers. While there messages weren't bad or evil, they were generally pretty depressing and condemning. I've since stopped going to that church as my inner spirit has instructed me to steer clear of them.

its not insanity. unless you have experienced it yourself you have no right to say anything against it or for it. and most of the time when people are speaking in tongues there is an interpreter or its just gods presence on a person that creates them to do that. its not insanity but almost the very opposite.

You will notice that when they spoke in tongues in the Bible there was someone there that understood the language that was being spoken. I think it was Paul who said, make sure there is someone who understands what is being said when you speak in tongues (publicly). But praying in tongues (privately) is understood by the Holy Spirit and very edifying to the prayee. Prophesying is the number one gift above tongues also.

I could give you all the references for this but it is more fun if you research it yourself.

One can't speak in tongues if no one can interpert what the person is saying - Also tongues is speaking any "another" language - it doesn't have to be just 'jibberish'...Most people don't understand the true meaning of this...

The point is not that you do not know what you are saying, the point is it is your own special language that you pray to God and God understands what you are saying. The devil can not understand what you are saying when you pray in your prayer language a.k.a. speaking in tongues. You do not have to know what you are saying --what is the most important thing is that God and only God knows. Besides those who are gifted in interpreting, but that's a whole other topic.
