It would seem appropriate and even polite to call. However, I'd probably work on my opening line a bit. "It was love at first sight" might be a tad strong. Try "I had a great time and hope there will be more opportunities to get together". Refrain from suggesting that the 2nd date involve selecting the china pattern . . . . .

It was love at first sight for my hubby and I, as well.
However, we both thought that we weren't too impressed with each other...it took calling my niece (who hooked us up) to see if the other one liked us enough for a 2nd date or not! haha
I would wait, maybe 2 to 4 days, to see if you get a return call. If not, then call.
Say something like "I REALLY enjoyed our first date, and I would like to go out again really soon...what do you think?"
You'll know then by the answers you get.

no you are just on lust here, call them and tell them you would love to see them sometime soon and you had a great night. then after a few months of dating see if you still feel the same. The first year and a half of a relationship is based on lust but there after is love... see how long you hang in there....

yes. but not right away, you dont want to seem desperate. buit not too long after wards, because then they will think you have lost interest, so maybe 2 days after the date call 'em and ask them out again.
