Here's some military 101....ALWAYS make copies of your service records, order awards, and especially your dd-214.This document should have been the last thing you recieved when you completed your final out appointment...but if you've lost it then contact the VA in St. Louis, they have the 214s of all service members that have served since WWI.

You should have gotten one when you got out of the service. BUT since you don't have one or can't find it I'd say contact your local Veterans Agent and he can help you. You can get one from the Veterans adminstration (State Level) and if all else fails Dept of Records, St Louis, MIssouri.

When you are discharged from the Military, you will recieve a piece of paper telling you what medals you have, how long you served and whether you were discharged honorablly or otherwise.

My husband had misplaced his and we were able to get a copy of it from the City Hall in the town he was living when he was discharged. Luckily we only lived one town over.

Yup, I got mine the day I got out of the good ole USMC. We had to have it. I would try personal records, or there is a number you can call, contact your local VA they will help

When you got out, they gave you one. Did you ever turned it in to City hall? If you did you can request a copy in the City Hall where you turned it in. If that is not the case go to your Veterans Affair's office.

Your county Vet Rep will guide you to the right place. Every county has one. When you get your dd214...guard it, hide it. Put it in a safe place.
