Since I'm a guy I don't really feel like I should have an opinion on this topic.... this is clearly a women's issue, however having said that, I am firmly pro-abortion...in fact I'm a little too pro-abortion for polite society. If you take away a Woman's freedom to choose what she can and can't do with her own body, then you have only made things worse in my opinion. Also there are issues regarding genetic diseases that we should take the time and trouble to eliminate without moving towards 'master race' mentality... Plus some people are just too stupid or otherwise unqualified to raise children properly, our prisons and foster homes are full of proof of this. Still, its a complicated and divisive issue that will be a point of contention for society for generations to come.

I 100% agree with what you are saying. These idiots who have never been in the situation before and believe they can give their narrow minded opinions are the ones that should be killed because believe you me they are becoming a small breed and I cannot wait till the day they are extinct! If I had any idea that my child was to be that opinionated then I would definitly abort it! The world is a bigger place now and there are plenty more options than having to ruin your chances of giving your future (yes and your kids) a better start. I am soooo not anti - abortion!

I'm not anit-abortion. I think that a woman should beable to choose what she wants to do with the rest of her life. I got pregnant at 13 and I am very glad I got an abortion because:
-1st of all it was twins
-2nd if I had had a baby (or 2) then they would have had a really really bad life
-I wouldn't have been able to give them anything
-me and the babies had a 50/50 chance of dying if I carried it out

I'm pro-life. The one thing that I have to wonder is about your sister. How could the doctors guarantee her 100% that her baby had this disease and would suffer and die? What if they were wrong? Medicine is NOT an exact science. Without her giving birth to the baby, and doing tests to the baby itself after h/she was born, there's no way of knowing.

I totally agree. Those situations all make sense for an abortion. Abortion makes sense in general, if that is what the mother wants. I mean seriously. The baby is probably better off not having to suffer. I TOTALLY agree

what makes me sick is people who think they are responsible. does that word even have meaning anymore? does this baby-killing anti-gun rosie o'donnell generation have one bit of maturity? quit spreading your legs like an adult if you dont want to take on adult responsibilities. chance of death to mother or child through the normal course of gestation or birth-giving is the only excuse. so what your friend got raped. what makes her so special that she should get away with murder. its not the baby's fault that she was hanging around people that do that sort of thing. pick better friends and perhaps quit dressing like a tramp and maybe that wont happen. but to take the life of an innocent...you should be ashamed. you should kill yourself instead of a baby. yeah thats it instead of killing the babies how about we just kill the whores who cant keep their legs closed. i think that any woman who wants an abortion for any reason other than health threats should be the ones to die. then we wont have these idiot questions about abortion after all the baby killers are dead.

I also prefer the term pro-choice. I believe in some instances abortion may be the best option. I do not think I could ever have one, but I think it is every womans choice. People may dispute pro or con but in the end it is the womans body and her choice.

The better question is who is pro-choice and anti-choice?
The even bigger question is why we let this wedge issue distract us from asking candidates about real issues like jobs, security, education, and so forth.
The pro-life side is so blinded by their zealotry they don't see the real world issues relating to abortion.
The pro-choice side needs to emphasize the reason for keeping abortion legal. Namely for cases of rape, incest, and the health of the mother. Not to mention, does a teenage girl need to give birth as punishment for getting pregnant.
The deeper issue is one of controlling women and their rights. Banning abortion forces women back into a second class of citizenry.

You are so right. Everybody should have the right (Human rights ?) to decide on her own in this matter. So much misery could be avoided if abortion is legalized. But not many people would understand this, especially not those old fashioned religious minded ones. Good luck to your sister and your courageous friend.

I'm pro choice. I don't know if abortion would be okay for myself but I don't think I have the right to tell someone else what they can do with their body.
