I wouldn't take the puppy any where until after they have had all their initial vaccinations. Usually puppies get vaccinated at 6 weeks, then 9 weeks & then 12 weeks. I would wait until you get all these vaccinations done before taking your dog into any area that another dog or animal may have been in so you can avoid exposing them to any potential diseases. When bringing the dog out to potty train try to use the same spot regularly & avoid going to an area that another dog may be using to go potty at. Their poop could expose your dog to worms & such.

It truely is NOT safe to have her outside until she has her whole set of PARVO vaccines. You should never take her to a public area where a lot of dogs have been & have deficated. The parvo virus travels through the intestinal system & out that way. It can live in the ground for 15 yrs. So if your puppy digs up some dirt or another dog does & your pup walks through it, she could get it. This is very important. Parvo will kill your puppy if it goes too far.

Without a full series of vaccines, you are at HIGH risk for parvo. You can take the pup into your own yard, but not to public places. I am assuming the puppy has has no vaccines yet as someone allowed her to go to a new home too early. She must not be AKC registered either, since AKC does not allow puppies to be sold until 7 weeks. Get her to the vet ASAP for a check up and the first vaccine. Small puppies like that do not do well if they get parvo. Have a fecal sample checked too, since all puppies have roundworms and they are transmittable to people!!!!

so small and young, my advice open the back door to your yard if the pup wants to venture out it will. but keep an eye on it,they can get away from you fast, as far as leashing it try it in the house first, leading it around some letting the pup get used to the idea,1 step a a time, play rolling the ball with it,with the leash attached, don't let it become afraid of it. do this for few days then venture outside it'll get the idea soon, it will like going for those walks and they will want to go alot.

Honestly, an untrained dog can be a real pain - a risk to himself, his owner and to other people and animals. Owning an undisciplined dog may result to:
- Destruction to your home
- Social isolation
- Accidents
- Injuries
- Legal claims against you
- Stress to all concerned
- The dog being unwanted
Canines that always get their own way will believe that life revolves around them and for that reason they must be important. Since dogs are looking for controlling different resources than humans, their bid for power usually goes undetected until it’s too late. Obedience and house training your dog and ensuring he’s not raised to a top position inside the home will keep your relationship with him well-balanced in your favor, as it must be for satisfaction all round.

It is really hard to give advise to your question.
The puppy should still be with its mom.
It is very young to have already had its first puppy shot
(has it????)
It will need a series of 3 puppy shots given about 3 or 4 weeks apart.
It has to be wormed about every 2 to 3 weeks (until about 5 months)
All these things need to be done before your baby is exposed to other animals.
She has not had time to build up any immunities yet.
You can let her out in your back yard, with you close by to monitor her.
It will get her accustomed to going pottie outside.
Do not let her have contact with strange dogs, dogs touching noses is one way to transmit disease, contaminated poop is another.
You will need to limit her exposure to any other animals until her immunity has had time to build up.

It's good to get in the habit to take your dogs outside to use the restroom from the time they are puppies. If you wait to long to start training they will think it is ok to go inside. I'm not sure what age you should start taking them out, but once you do, you need to get on a regular schedule, rain or shine. My dogs hate going outside when it's cold and snowing, but I still have to, unless I want them to get the idea its ok to use the bathroom in the house. It has been less than 10 degress outside here the past few days and windy, but I have been taking my dogs out every day. I suggest if the weather is bad to find a spot sheltered from wind and air to take your dog to and stand there for a few minutes. If it is to cold to stay out for long, don't worry about it, just stay outside for 2-3 minutes, long enough for your dog to do their business. Wait until it is warmer to take your dog for a super long walk and if you are still worried about the cold, buy your dog one of those shirt things you can get at Wal-Mart to cover her. I have a nice pick coat (it even has a hood!) for my girl dog, I barely use it anymore, but I have it just in case it gets to bad outside. Hope I helped and good luck!

No, not unless she has had at least one or more of her injections, you never can tell especially with Parvo, and Distemper going about.. Wait till then, ask the vet after she has had one or two of the jags. Hope you find the answer you are looking for. All the best with the new arrival !!

She should still be with her mother at 6 weeks. I don't even give the first set of shots until 8 weeks.
Has she had any shots? I would be careful taking her to places where other dogs frequent, she is not protected from contagious diseases yet.
