a few years ago if you wore ripped jeans it meant you were poor. now, jeans that are pre-ripped are more expensive than regular jeans. so now if your jeans are not sh1tty you are poor. I believe that this is one of the dumbest fads.

I remember people doing this 20 years ago when I was in high school -- I thought it was dumb then, and I think it is dumb now.
But hardly a fad.........

I don't have a problem with the ripped-jean look so long as the wearer is not indecently exposed which makes a person clad in this way difficult to talk to or taken seriously.
I do have to wonder why shoppers who enjoy that kind of fashion can be so taken in by retail folks capitalizing on the fad. I should think the buyers who enjoy that look would be of a personality type to see through the high prices and realize they are being taken advantage of. Are they really worth $50 for the name tag?

I have ripped jeans...but I don't buy them like that. They just get ripped accidently and I still wear them not because it's a fad, but because I don't have enough money to buy new ones! But yeah, I think its stupid that people pay more money just for pre-ripped jeans when they could just do it theirself.

Well I use to to think that they were stupid but I have such a hard time trying to find jeans to fit me right, so I was daring and tried on a pair of ripped jeans and they fit perfectly. I know it was probalbly just the brand but they are now my favorite jeans and I have 2 pairs.

My Daddy would agree with you like100%, he was always on m,y sister's case.......He'd say why get ripped jeans when you can buy regular jeans and wait for them to ripp apart with time...

Yeah, but I look at all the headgear that we were wearing in the 80s...and leg warmers (let's all wear our socks on the outsides of our pants) etc. and it doesn't surprise me too much.

i think that its really dumb to buy ripped jeans. i mean freal, they tend to be more expensive than non-ripped jeans and its dumb to waste your money on jeans that are already ripped. stupid.

I agree. Also, wearing jeans so low that your underwear sticks out the top, is also dumb.
